| Summary | 0015842: 5.0.0 RC1 crashes on older graphics cards |
| Description | ParaView 5.0.0 RC1 crashes on older graphics cards. This is true of my old personal laptop, and my work Windows computer.
When I try to just run 5.0.0 RC on my Windows 7 workstation, it just crashes. When I try to run in a command window, it just crashes. However, when I run in an cygwin window, I get the following:
$ ./paraview.exe
ERROR: In C:\bbd\5105004d\source-paraview\VTK\Rendering\OpenGL2\vtkOpenGLRenderWindow.cxx, line 541
vtkWin32OpenGLRenderWindow (0000000002C12830): GL version 2.1 is not supported by your graphics driver.
This needs to be fixed before 5.0 goes out. At least let people know what is going on, and DON'T CRASH.

Not sure what project to throw this into. Sandia is OK, if it is appropriate. |

This is because so far ParaView 5.0 is configured with the new OpenGL backend 2 as default and this backend require a decent (I mean not too old :) ) graphic board. I know Utkarsh plan to provides binaries for both new and old backend in next 5.0 release. |

Don't close until 15886 is closed. They aren't duplicates, but very close. |
