[Paraview] Fwd: Saving scalars of polydata

ParaView doesn't have the ability to put the color mapped colors back
into the data set itself. The vtk class that could do this appears to
be vtkApplyColors. To use that from ParaView, you will have to find a
way to feed the lookup table back from a display pipeline into the
data processing pipeline.

An alternative might be to modify one of the exporters to do it. Those
already put the colors back onto the mesh when they save out the
visible scene for some external rendering platform.
