Ah sorry.  I suspect this has been discussed on the paraview list...
This thread seems to be cross posted to both cmake and paraview lists...
as I only read the cmake list, I think I'm missing context.

Xcode is renowned for performing poorly with large projects.  Still,
someone should file a bug at
<http://bugreport.apple.com>
