How about the following code:

dssf = filters.DataSetSurfaceFilter()
view = CreateRenderView()
display = CreateRepresentation(dssf, view)
lt = rendering.PVLookupTable()
display.LookupTable = lt
display.ColorAttributeType = 0; # Point Data
display.ColorArrayName = "p"
