[Paraview] Kitware Search Unreliable

I think there's something preventing Google (and some other engines)
from crawling the public.kitware.com site properly. I tried the
following search at google.com:

[Paraview] Crash Reading pvs Using Volume Vis site:public.kitware.com

I'm pretty sure the "site:" syntax is what the little search bar at the
top of the pipermail page uses and just sends it on to Google.
Interestingly enough, I tried it at a few other sites and sometimes it
works, sometimes not:

google.com	only finds bug reports
lycos.com	only finds mailing list posts
live.com	only finds bug reports
yahoo.com	works fine
altavista.com	works fine
ask.com only finds mailing list posts

Don't know what it is though. The robots meta tags seems correct
(index/nofollow for the posts and noindex/follow for the archive lists).
Also the robots.txt file doesn't appear to be excluding anything.
