You may enjoy watching a presentation that uses ParaView at this year's
Supercomputing Conference.

A simulation of blood flow, running on a parallel system in Pittsburgh,
will use a PSC package named PDIO to write files directly to a workstation
at the show. A modified version of ParaView on that workstation will
animate the data, adding new datasets as they arrive.

ParaView will be running in serial mode but the data is stored in parallel
from one end to the other (pvd and vtu files). This eliminates the need for
conversion or combining parallel outputs into a single file.

The presentation will run from 11:00am to 11:30am on Wednesday and Thursday
at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center booth. The developers of the flow
simulation and PDIO will describe their work and answer questions.
