[Paraview] 1D Curve help!!!

Hi,
We are a new Group of Paraview users; we have decided to 
use this program to visualize the results of our 
simulations (we work at "Dipartimento di Meccanica ed 
Aeronautica, La Sapienza", Rome). We have a problem to 
visualize a 1D curves. The question is: can Paraview 
visualize curves without a fixed "a priori" number of 
points? Is possible to visualize a curve without give in 
the header of vtk's files the number of points? a simple 
file ASCII in which there is two variabile listed as:
0.288 0.232
0.343 0.343
0.434 0.566
....   .....
could be imported (without header's specifications)?
