VTK/ParaView Charts

Yesterday finished bar chart and line chart (for now). Started stack chart. 40% complete. Stack chart similar to the bar chart.

Still working on string support for the axes. That and the stack chart should be done tomorrow.

Pan and zoom coming. There have been issues with painter clipping. Have not implemented selection. Mouse overs also not implemented.

GUI Plugins

After charts.

Deliverables

Multiblock (Utkarsh, Berk, ETI)

Utkarsh put in new multiblock stuff. Now in information tab you can traverse whole tree of multiblock. In extract block, you can see the whole tree and select individual blocks.

Dave has an update on all the multiblock changes. New architecture should be soon.

SILO Reader (Pat)

Pat is working on getting to work in parallel. Would like to see this in ParaView by the end of next week.

Selection (Berk, Utkarsh)

Nothing happened.

ParaView/Titan Chart Merger (Jeff, Utkarsh, Philippe, ETI)

See above.

Volume Rendering Algorithm Chooser (Dave Cole)

After selection.

Plot multiple points/cells over time (Berk)

After multiblock and selection work.

Textures (Utkarsh)

Done unless there is time to implement assigning any array to texture coordinates.

2D Image View type (Utkarsh)

No progress.

Box and Sphere Widgets (Will)

Will said he is working on it. Should be working before the release.

We are assured this is in progress.

Custom filter cleanup (Utkarsh)

Done unless we have time left over.

IEEE Vis Tutorial

Should we try for a Vis tutorial again? What should it contain? Should it be the standard 1/2 day getting started? Should it be a full day with some advanced topics (python scripting, customization) in the second half? Should we submit two tutorials?

Berk's idea: have more targeted tasks that address a certain type of visualization. We could invite several people to each do a small part of the tutorial. We should ask the folks at CSCS to see if they would like to participate.

MARS Issues

Lisa has mostly just been bringing stuff up. The biggest issue now: the lack of animation tools. For example, camera controls are not very good.

Since the MPI issue was (partially) resolved, things are working much better now.

V&V Milestone

Committed fragment extract. It still needs to be cleaned up to remove some MPI dependencies.
