Summary | 0015183: Imp: Add "Use Cell Centers" option in the Glyph filter
Description | “Auto convert properties” allows to apply filters which requires node field on a cell field, auto applying the filter “cell data to point data”. However, this filter computes mean values on the nodes. The resulting field data is an approximation of the initial field, with different min and max values. In order to keep the initial values, we must use the filter “cell centers”. This can be done for the filter glyph, but not for the filter contour for which the result of “cell centers” cannot be used as an input. That’s why we need to be able to set to use “cell centers” when the result can be used for a filter but still use “cell data to point data” otherwise, at least for the Glyph filter.

Could not replicate fix. Sent Tristan an e-mail. |

Alan, It works, the bug description is bad. Here's a better one: 1. Create Sphere, Apply 2. Elevation, Apply 3. Point Data To Cell Data, Apply 4. Glyph, ensure that "Scalars" is set to "Elevation" (cell data), Apply Previously, if you "Glyph"ed the dataset, you could only select "Point Data" to scale the glyphs with. Hence you couldn't choose "Elevation" in the above scenario at all. Now, you can also use cell data. And when you do that, the glyphs are automatically placed at the center of the cells (using "cell centers" filter internally) rather than at the point locations. |

Thanks for the excellent test and explanation Utkarsh. Tested local server, master, Linux. |
