Summary | 0013866: Allow user to add multiple filters before hitting apply
Description | I have a request from a user to allow the addition of multiple filters before hitting apply. Here is his request (from work on Cielo): One item of feedback is the following: most of the time I spent doing viz with ParaView was spent waiting for the screen graphics to update after I had applied some change to the pipeline or display options. You could dramatically reduce the time needed to make a picture for big datasets like on Cielo by making it so that a user can construct an entire pipeline with datasets, filers, and display options selected, before triggering ParaView to render anything. Oftentimes, I know exactly what I want, but it requires 5 or 10 steps to get there. For each of those steps, I have to wait for the screen to update. This waiting is often several minutes, for each change, and at each stage it is never clear how much longer I will need to wait. If there was a way to build the entire pipeline, and not allow ParaView to do any rendering until I say “Go,” it would save many minutes. Is something like that possible?
