DescriptionWe really should have a way to get at find data from the main gui. This is too important of functionality to be hidden under "edit".

Another option would be to allow the find data dialog to be brought up from a right click on an object.

Commit 7cd02513beaaed36d8ccf52ec8f1fedd59bb49ac, now in stage/next, adds a button to the selection toolbar (to the right of "Pick Object") that displays the Find Data dialog. The icon shows a selection rubber band on top of a scalar bar. The "v" key (for select by 'V'alue) will also open the dialog.
