0010556: WriteImage in pvbatch pvpython

WriteImage( "foo.png", "vtkxxxWriter" ) generates a segmentation fault when run from pvbatch or pvpython. xxx here is PNG or JPEG, and the same problem may be present for others as well. This is a show-stopper.

The original report for this bug was submitted 11 days ago. it is still not assigned, so it is being submitted again.

This bug existed in cvshead for a couple weeks and is now fixed as of 4/14/2010

Now I see this was submitted for version 3.6.2, so it is not related to the bug I fixed on 4/14/2010. Reopening this issue.

Mitch, can you try adding this line before the call to WriteImage:

GetActiveView().UseOffscreenRenderingForScreenshots = 0

I've gotten a couple bug reports on this in Fedora. Using the command above does appear to fix the issue for me. Can this get properly fixed?
